Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania – McCarthy Tire Service is pleased to announce that it achieved notable rankings in several categories by Modern Tire Dealer and Tire Business during 2016.
Modern Tire Dealer listed McCarthy Tire as the sixth largest commercial tire dealer, the eighth largest retreader, and one of the top 25 independent tire dealers in the United States. Tire Business ranks McCarthy Tire as eighth out of the top 35 commercial dealerships in North America.
Modern Tire Dealer and Tire Business, two trade publications for the domestic tire industry, independently conduct surveys of commercial, retail, and industrial/off-the-road (OTR) tire dealerships to compile annual lists for the industry. Modern Tire Dealer focuses on companies located in the United States, while Tire Business assesses companies in the US and Canada. Both publications compile their dealership rankings based on annual sales and company-owned outlets. Modern Tire Dealer also ranks retreaders, and those rankings are based on the average amount of tread rubber used to retread different types of tires.
McCarthy Tire Service operates more than 50 locations along the East Coast, including eight Bandag retread plants.
