October 9, 2019 – Tracy Champ has been promoted to the newly created position of regional manufacturing manager (south). He will have oversight for McCarthy Tire’s retread tire manufacturing plants in Richmond and Roanoke, Virginia; Wilson and Charlotte, North Carolina; and Easley, South Carolina.
Tracy has spent his career in the retreading industry. Most recently, he was the plant manager of the GCR Tires & Service retread manufacturing plant in Roanoke, Virginia, which was acquired by McCarthy Tire Service in August 2019. He spent 18 years with GCR Tires in retreading, and prior to that, he worked in sales and service at Weirton Bandag. Tracy specializes in training and productivity. He has great plans to increase overall efficiency and production at McCarthy Tire’s five southern plants. He will work closely with John Pappas, his counterpart for the five northern retread plants. Both Tracy and John report to Neil Horn, VP of Operations.
