Readers of the Times Leader newspaper voted for their favorite local employers over a six-week period. The Times Leader Media Group honored the region’s top employers at a reception in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, in early December. McCarthy Tire was noted as a silver winner.
In 1926, Joseph J. McCarthy started McCarthy Tire Service in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The company has grown under a succession of McCarthy’s – first Joe, then his son, Jack, followed by Jack’s children, John and Katie, and sons-in-law, Neil Horn and Gary Lambert.
