South Carolina Trucking Association Names November Driver of the Month

Fred, a truck driver from McCarthy Tire, has been honored as the South Carolina Trucking Association’s November Driver of the Month. This prestigious award recognizes Fred’s exceptional record of safe, courteous driving and his positive impact on the trucking industry.

Selected from a pool of highly qualified drivers across the state, Fred’s dedication to his craft along with his employer’s recommendation earned him this well-deserved recognition. His professionalism and commitment to safety have inspired those around him, making him a true role model in the trucking community. Fred will be formally recognized at the upcoming Fall Management Conference Meeting on November 7-9 in Greenville, SC.

“Fred’s exceptional driving record is truly impressive. Not only does he hold the best driving score for Scott’s region, but he’s also maintained a clean driving history for the past thirty years. His dedication to safe driving is also evident in his interactions with colleagues, as I’ve often heard him encouraging others to prioritize safety. As his nominator, I’m proud to recognize Fred for his outstanding contributions to safe driving,” said his nominator, Jim Lanham, Safety Manager, Southern Region.

As a Driver of the Month, Fred will also be considered for the prestigious South Carolina Truck Driver of the Year award. A panel of judges from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, South Carolina State Transport Police, and South Carolina Highway Safety Office will review his driving record along with the other eleven monthly winners. The overall winner will be announced in March 2025 at the SCTA Safety Awards Banquet in Columbia, SC.
